Non Halon Fire Extinguishers
New European rule making will be come applicable which will prohibit the use of Halon filled units per 1 Jan 2026.
Ref.
EASA Halon Guide Feb 2025; EU: Regulation (EC) No 1005/2009; EU: Commission Regulation (EU) No 2017/605.

This will require the replacement of the currently installed handheld fire extinguisher filled with Halon by a non Halon alternative like BrX. Also the lavatory waste bin extinguishers are affected and may need replacement.
Major suppliers like Kidde, Amerex and others do supply so called drop -in replacements. However for the installation of the alternative unit, a certification is still required for amongst others if the rating of the unit does meet the requirement.
As the drop in replacement is sometimes slightly larger as of the new extinguishing agent, a larger volume is required, the units may also be slightly larger. On a few occasions it was concluded that it did not fit and alternative locations needed to be explored in order to comply with the requirements.

Fokker Services can create an Engineering Bulletin (including IPC supplements) for such a replacement unit.
This EB, including supplement, will be published on the website MyAircraftFleet.com and linked to the effective aircraft serial numbers and therefore are readily available for every member of the airline together with other Fokker Services Engineering Bulletins. If then an aircraft is moved to another operator, it can easily be made available for this new operators via MyAircraftFleet.
If you need more information, you may contact Fokker Services.

Regulators certify Falcon 6X for steep-approach landings
The Falcon 6X is now cleared for landing in more airports than ever. On May 5, the extra-widebody was certified by European regulators for steep approaches of up to 5.5°, thus allowing it to access steep-approach airports such as London City and Lugano, Switzerland.
With the growing number of 6Xs operating around the globe, this should come as good news. The wide world is getting wider.
