StandardAero Acquires Aero Turbine Inc. to Expand Military Engine and Accessories MRO Capabilities

StandardAero announced that it has acquired Aero Turbine Inc., a comprehensive provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services and consultative repair solutions for military engines and accessories from Gallant Capital, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm. Founded in 1978, Aero Turbine Inc. is located at the Stockton Metropolitan Airport in northern California.

Aero Turbine Inc. represents StandardAero’s 13th acquisition since 2015 and the company employs nearly 200 highly skilled and experienced technicians and operates from its fully integrated 60,000+ square feet Stockton facility that also includes an outdoor engine test cell.

The SA Group becomes majority shareholder in Scandinavian Avionics Bromma AB

The SA Group and Bromma Air Maintenance (BAM) signed a Shares Purchase Agreement, transferring all of BAM’s shares in Scandinavian Avionics Bromma AB (SABAB) to The SA Group. Since the transfer of shares The SA Group is now the majority shareholder of SABAB.

SABAB, located at Bromma Airport in Stockholm has been the Swedish department of The SA Group since 1988, and been an essential part of The SA Group since then. In the early 2000’s BAM “boarded” the SABAB journey as shareholder, and SABAB’s capabilities and high-quality services offered today are a testimony to the success the partnership has brought for the past 20 years.

Fast forward a year, and in May 2024, they announced that they had received approval from the Swiss Civil Aviation Authority (FOCA) for the use of this technology in regulated inspections by images. Scaling up efficiency: EVA Air first airline in Asia to sign for AeroSHARK

One percent fuel saving and emissions reduction planned for the sharkskin-modified aircraft.

Lufthansa Technik AG is proud to announce EVA Air as the first Asian airline having signed for modifications with its drag-reducing and hence fuel-saving AeroSHARK surface technology jointly developed with BASF.

The Taipei-based airline decided to have its entire cargo fleet of nine Boeing 777F long-range freighters modified with the innovative riblet films covering the aircraft’s fuselage and engine nacelles. With B-16786, a first EVA Air freighter has already undergone this comprehensive modification at the airline’s homebase at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport. Closely guided by Lufthansa Technik, the modification was executed by EVA Air's affiliate, Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corporation (EGAT). The aircraft is expected to re-enter commercial service in early September.

Fokker Services Group inaugurates solar facility in LaGrange, GA, USA

Announced in April and completed in record time by June 27th, this milestone marks another step in Fokker Services Group's (FSG) global ESG roadmap. Once fully operational, these solar panels will produce 1 million watts of electricity, meeting 100% of Fokker Services America's (FSAm) annual energy needs and providing excess clean energy back into the grid.

European Air Ambulance Adds Second Challenger 605

Luxembourg-based European Air Ambulance has expanded its aeromedical fleet with a second Bombardier Challenger 605.
The large-cabin business jet is equipped with two Spectrum Aeromed intensive care units and a third logistical stretcher.
