PMV Engineering obtains EASA STC Extension for CMA-9000 FMS upgrade on A300-600

While its legacy Honeywell/Sperry FMS no longer meet airlines' operational requirements (reduced navigation database capacity), the Airbus A300-600 wide-body aircraft are also facing problems of obsolescence and spare parts supply for FMS components. This is becoming a strategic issue, as it is not viable to fly these aircraft for at least the next ten years.

As a solution, PMV Engineering EASA STC 10058463 certified both A300-622 and A300-605R models with dual CMA-9000 FMS (so-called FMCDUs), including vertical guidance (Profile Mode).
All existing FMS interfaces are mostly reused and rerouted from the avionic bay to the FMCDUs installed on the central pedestal in cockpit.
The navigation performances are met from RNAV10 / RNP10 to RNP APCH (down to LNAV/VNAV minima) / RNAV (GNSS).
