LPV: The new approach standard within the EU

Unleash the potential of an LPV approach with Fokker Services Group and avoid being sent to a holding pattern or even diverted unnecessarily.

To enhance air safety, the European aviation regulator, EASA, has outlined a roadmap for the adoption of LPV, the most advanced aircraft approach technology available. By January 1, 2024, every airport within the EU is required to implement LPV on at least one runway end. By 2030, LPV will become the standard, replacing ILS Cat I. Consequently, between 2024 and 2030, many airports will opt to decommission their expensive-to-maintain ILS Cat I systems and replace them with LPV.

IAMA's standard can now be applied to all modification projects

IAMA, the Independent Aircraft Modifier Alliance today unveiled the latest standard outlined in version 4 of the Rulebook. The new updates address the applicability of the standard to minor modifications, guidance around Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness, also called ICAs and Manual Supplements. It also introduces new scalability aspect to the standard allowing all members to apply the standard regardless of the size of the modification being developed.
